Soda Bread

I mean who doesn’t like a good chunky slice of toast. This bread is super tasty quite damperish and fantastic with jam or Vegemite.


  • 200g white flour
  • 150g wholemeal flour
  • 50g oats
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 250ml unsweetened dairy free milk


  1. Preheat oven 220
  2. Dust a baking dish with some flour
  3. In a bowl, mixer or food processor mix all the dry ingredients
  4. Add the wet ingredients and mix well until in a nice dough. If too moist/dry add flour/milk or should all stick together nicely but not stick to your hands or surface
  5. Roll into a nice big ball
  6. Place in middle of the baking tray and cut a deep cut across the middle of the bread almost to the bottom, key here is ALMOST don’t cut the thing in half
  7. Sprinkle some more oats over the top of you fancy
  8. Throw in the oven and cook for 30mins or longer if needed
  9. Pull out let cool on a drying rack and then your grand
